Made in Japan from a traditional rice bag, the growing kit combines a paper lined bag with peat mix and seeds. Just open the top and add water to get the plant started. When the plant has matured, transport to a larger pot or the garden.

Cultivate and Eat is an effort to get involved in every step of our meal, starting from the very beginning. Their kits contain rare Japanese seeds you can grow right at home to make delicious Japanese dishes. Just add water directly into the paper bag (it is lined with plastic to prevent decay) and begin to grow your own greens, transplanting to a larger pot when ready.

Only growing to about six inches high, with very small, compact leaves. Each leaf bursts with intense basil flavour, so a little goes a long way. The flavour is similar to classic Italian basil, so use in the same way. This ingenious cultivation kit includes seeds, peat mix, and growing instructions, all packaged up and tied ready to go.
